     ABSAILING

Experience the adrenaline rushes of this outdoor activity facilitate by our trained
Outdoor Managers.
The Jump is down a 20m vertical rock face situated in the quarry.

  LOW ROPES COURSES

We offer a set of clearly defined problems.  Each group must work together towards a common goal, employ co-operation and use some physical effort to gain the solution.  This approach to learning is used to develop awareness, enhance decision-making skills, leadership and allocation of resources within a group.  There are also opportunities to break down stereotyping and to promote team spirit and build morale.

     RIVER RAFTING

Experience the thrill of running rapids under
the watchful eye of our trained river guides.

     ARCHERY

Facilitated by our Outdoor Managers, delegates
compete against one another for the highest score.

     Mohawk Walk

The objective is to move the entire team along a series of cables strung between
six posts in a zigzag line.  There are only cables and posts and the emphasis of
this activity is on problem solving with total group involvement as the team strives
to complete the task.

      Spider Walk

A customised, fixed and fabricated web.  The group must get themselves through
the web without touching any of the web material.  As each of the webs openings
are used, that opening is then sealed and cannot be used again.
Group co-ordination, time management and thinking ahead are put into use.

     Raft Building

Each team has to build their own life-size raft, using rope, drums and poles.  The
team then have to cross from one side of the quarry lake through to the other,
fetch another team member on the other side and return, without sinking.

     Trolleys

Each team is divided into groups of six per ski.  Five delegates on the ski are
blindfolded.  The remaining delegate has to guide the team.  Three of the six
delegates have to face in the opposite direction to the rest of the team.  The
group must then be guided within a 100-meter radius.

     Trust Fall

Each delegate has the opportunity to fall backwards off a 2-meter platform into
the arms of the catchers below.

     Wild Woozy

The aim of this activity is for a pair of delegates to work their way along the
two-foot lines that make up the activity.  The basis of the activity is two wire
ropes in a triangular formation.  Other delegates take the responsibility for
the safety of the delegates on the activity and also provide solutions for the
problem at hand.

     Gods Finger

The aim of this task is for the delegates to negotiate the tyres over the pole
without any of them touching the pole, taking into account the height of
the pole and weight of the tyres.

     Conti Shuffle

The delegates are arranged in height from shortest to tallest, balancing themselves
on a five-metre pole.  The object of the task is for them to rearrange themselves
on the pole from tallest to shortest without losing their balance.

     Chinese Pyramid

Using three hardwood poles and five vehicles tyres of difference sizes
(small/medium/large etc)  The delegate have to use their lateral thinking skills
to move the tyres from one pole to the other keeping in mind that at the end
of the task the tyres have to be in the same order as when they started.

     The Rock

This task consists of five rocks connected by cable at approximately thigh
height.  There are also ropes to assist with balancing them across, but the
ropes do not go the full length of the rock.  Therefore to successfully complete
this task team needs to trust and communicate with one another to get each
member to the other side of the rock.

     Blind Walk

This task places delegates in a demarcated area, where there are several
different obstacles of various height, width and length, which the delegates
need to negotiate.  One team member with good communication skills will
assist the blind folded member of her team through the course.  Once
again the whole team need to rotate in as far as communicating and listing.

     Crossing the River

The aim of this task is once again to get all delegates across the river.  There
are two yellow benches approximately 8 meters apart.  Between the benches
is a red platform, and then they get two green poles.  The poles are different
lengths.  The delegates may only stand or touch green, if they touch the
other two colours they have to start again.
