enlarged some of the standard chalets, now also
offering some spacious Family suites with
comfortable seating areas. The sliding doors
allow spectacular views of the breathtaking
beautiful tranquillity of the rugged
surroundings of the diverse bushveld.

Safari Spa Category, to add to the lodge’s many
5-star draw cards in Madikwe. Combine this with

Madikwe has the distinction
of being one of the few game reserves in the
world to be proclaimed purely on
the grounds of being the most appropriate and
sustainable land use for an area.
It further represents an extension to this
philosophy in that it is run as a joint venture
between the state,
the private sector and local communities. The
aim being, to wherever possible, involve the
local community
in wealth creation through tourism, skills and
training and to involve the local communities
directly in the
benefits of wildlife tourism and the protection
of the natural environment.

Guests visiting the lodge are
offered the opportunity to visit the Supingstad
schools, the local leather
factory, some traditional historical sites or
they can contribute to the soup kitchen which
Tau arranges at
the schools.
The Tau rangers successfully
embarked on the Tau Tree conservation project
and are not only educating
Tau guests on medicinal purposes, natural
habitat, ecology etc.
but they are actively involving their
guests
in conservation of the indigenous trees
as guests can
sponsor and plant their own tree with the
guidance
of their Ranger and participating guests are
thereby recorded as part of Tau’s history and
development. |
